His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reaffirmed that the UAE is progressing in its development journey by adopting modern technologies – particularly artificial intelligence – to build an integrated digital economy powered by innovation and knowledge.
He stated: “We want the UAE to be a global model in building an integrated digital economy driven by innovation, knowledge and artificial intelligence, and to serve as an international platform accelerating technological and economic transformation. DUBAI – Latin America’s digital economy is accelerating at a remarkable pace, projected to reach nearly US$950 billion by 2026, according to the Policy Center for the New South (PCMI).
As this next wave of socio-economic transformation unfolds, GITEX – the world’s largest technology and digital investment show – is stepping into the region for the first time. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAMPA), GITEX LATAM will make its debut at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil, from 16–17 March 2027.

As per StartupBlink’s Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report 2025, the city ranks first regionally, attracting over US$33.5 billion in venture capital over the past decade. The Smart Gold and Jewellery Testing Lab, unveiled at GITEX Global 2025, combines artificial intelligence and X-ray fluorescence technology to deliver laboratory-grade accuracy in real time.
Developed by the Dubai Central Laboratory in collaboration with the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, the innovation aims to enhance transparency and consumer confidence in one of the city’s most iconic industries. How it works
The self-service kiosk uses advanced spectroscopic and XRF analysis supported by AI and machine learning to identify metal composition with precision. Watch: UAE’s AI-powered patrol car to track visa violators from 10 metres away
DUBAI – The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has revealed a fully electric patrol car powered by artificial intelligence, built to detect visa and residency violations in real time.
The vehicle, showcased at GITEX Global 2025, can identify individuals through facial recognition up to 10 metres away using six high-resolution cameras strategically positioned for full 360-degree coverage.
While the car runs on AI, it is not driverless. Each vehicle will be manned by an officer who monitors a live dashboard displaying alerts, heat maps, and ID data as the patrol moves. When a match is found, the officer stops to verify the person’s documents directly, keeping the process human but swift.
Intelligent precision
The onboard system connects securely to ICP databases, allowing immediate confirmation of residency or visa status. Predictive technology helps officers prioritise alerts and respond instantly to possible violations.
The car’s design allows uninterrupted operation in extreme weather, including dust storms and high heat, ensuring reliable field performance across all emirates.
Sustainable power
The vehicle’s 680km electric range enables full-day operations on a single charge. It runs entirely on clean energy, combining environmental responsibility with advanced enforcement efficiency.
When will it hit the road?
The first fleet is expected to hit Dubai’s streets in early 2026 before expanding across the UAE.
The project follows a surge in enforcement activity, with more than 32,000 visa violations recorded in the first half of 2025. The ICP says the initiative marks a major leap in real-time field control, blending sustainability, technology, and precision enforcement into one intelligent patrol.

Complementing AutoGov is the TAMM AI Assistant, which offers access to more than 1,100 public and private services on a single platform. It can complete tasks on the user’s behalf, providing smart, contextual, and proactive support that learns and adapts to each user’s lifestyle.
New tools unveiled include AI Vision and Smart Guide, which simplify complex procedures with spoken and visual cues, real-time document scanning, and error-free submissions. Seamless end-to-end process
The new platform provides a completely remote, end-to-end experience. The process begins when the seller generates an electronic sale contract and sends it to the buyer for review and signature. Once the buyer transfers the payment to the service’s dedicated account, the ownership certificate is instantly issued in the buyer’s name within the application. This digital flow eliminates the need for in-person visits, offering a fast and secure transaction experience backed by verified digital identities.
Amid the strong performance of Dubai’s real estate sector in recent years, the Digital Sale service is expected to sustain growth momentum by moving closer to a 100% digital property ecosystem. It supports the emirate’s ambition to build an innovation-led economy that attracts global real estate investment through transparent and reliable digital systems.
Key requirements
To use the Digital Sale service, both buyer and seller must possess valid Emirates IDs and active UAE Pass accounts capable of verified digital signatures.
The property must be within Dubai’s freehold areas and categorised as a residential unit, commercial unit, or townhouse. Additionally, it must be mortgage-free, held by a single owner, and linked to a UAE-based bank account.
The Dubai Now app, which serves as a unified digital platform for more than 350 services from 50 government and private entities, is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

The AI-powered system marks a breakthrough in customs operations by streamlining risk analysis, detecting prohibited goods, and reducing physical inspections through intelligent data processing.
Sheikh Mansoor directed Dubai Customs to continue enhancing integrated risk systems across entry points using artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning. DUBAI – Pakistan’s Tech Destination Pavilion was officially inaugurated today at GITEX Global 2025, reinforcing the country’s growing role as a global technology hub.

Dubai’s GITEX expands to Brazil, unlocking US$950 billion Latin American market
DUBAI – Latin America’s digital economy is accelerating at a remarkable pace, projected to reach nearly US$950 billion by 2026, according to the Policy Center for the New South (PCMI).
As this next wave of socio-economic transformation unfolds, GITEX – the world’s largest technology and digital investment show – is stepping into the region for the first time. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAMPA), GITEX LATAM will make its debut at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil, from 16–17 March 2027.
